Kananaskis mountain elopement – documenting Charley & Nathan’s wedding day adventure
Kananaskis is one of my favorite places in the Alberta Rockies so when Charley reached out about a laid-back mountain elopement in Kananaskis with their dog, I was beyond excited. Charley & Nathan told me that they didn’t want the stress of planning a big traditional wedding at home, in the midst of covid. They wanted the start of their marriage to be intentional and intimate. A day that really represented who they are and what they love. So they booked a trip to Kananaskis, Alberta, and brought their dog with them! Kananaskis has so many options for hidden secluded beaches and stunning mountain views.
I started off the day by documenting a few moments for Charley as she wrapped up her getting ready time. She Zoom called her family (mom and sis) so they could experience being there with her as she got ready and put on her dress. Then we walked down to the trees to find Nathan, waiting to see her for the first time. They had the most romantic, precious first look!
We waited out the heavy rain and then found a spot for them to exchange their vows. Lots of happy tears were shed. Charley & Nathan poured their hearts out to one another as we all felt little rain droplets fall from the sky. It was all so magical.
We ended the day on a beachfront in Kananaskis and I documented their first bit of “married life” as Charley & Nathan walked around the shore. So honored to have been invited in on this intimate day! So happy for you C + N!
