Banff Elopement – Small Wedding with Family Present

A romantic, intimate Banff elopement with friends and family present

What a precious elopement day in the Banff area of the Canadian Rockies. These two planned such a beautiful, simple, intimate gathering with their friends and family to share their vows and have an adventurous, but relaxing day in the mountains. They spent the morning getting ready at hotels in Canmore and then headed to the mountains to see each other for the first time. We found a spot in a colorful field that was off their ceremony trail and gave them some privacy to have their first look and share some personal letters/vows with each other. *Cue the tears*.

First looks are always some of my absolute favorite moments of the day to capture and be a part of, not just because finally seeing each other is so exciting, emotional and full of anticipation for the couple, but because it’s usually one of the only times that you get to spend intentional quality time together with your significant other. And time on your wedding day is so incredibly important.

After the first look:

Their ceremony was full of tears and emotion, not only from everyone witnessing but me as well, behind my camera. Everything about their ceremony pointed to what really mattered at the end of the day. Getting to marry and committing your life to your best friend. Josee & Andrew didn’t care about the weather, what they looked like, the fact that their arch wasn’t able to get set up, etc. All they cared about was being there on this day, with one another and getting married. Finally.

They spent their whole day with family & friends, surrounded by so much love and support as they committed their lives to one another on a little beachfront spot in the Canadian Rockies. Everything about this Banff elopement was one for the books. This day reminded me of why I do what I do, and why I love it so much. Thanks, Josee & Andrew for planning a wedding day around what truly matters.
